About me
I’m a self-taught software developer passionate about security, DevOps, and learning in public. I share my journey, struggles, and growth to help others who might be one step behind. Teaching is how I learn, and I hope my experiences can be a resource for those looking to improve their skills.
Hi, I'm Jimmie
I’m a software developer with a passion for security, DevOps, and engineering—but my journey here wasn’t exactly conventional.
Before diving into tech, I was a firefighter, where I learned problem-solving under pressure, teamwork, and resilience. Now, I apply that same mindset to building software, automating workflows, and breaking (and securing) things on purpose.
What I Do
Writing & Sharing Knowledge
I write about security, DevOps, software development, personal growth, and learning. You can find my latest articles on this site.
Building & Exploring New Tech
I love experimenting with new technologies and solving real-world problems with code.
Why I Share
I believe in learning in public. By sharing what I’m learning, I hope to provide the resources I wish I had when I was struggling. Show Your Work changed how I view publishing online—I’m willing to be wrong if it leads me to the right answer. Feedback is too valuable to ignore, and teaching is the best way to learn.
What I Use
Languages: TypeScript, Go
Tools: Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform
Cloud: Azure
Security: TryHackMe entusiast
What I Build
Home Lab – A personal cloud and infrastructure lab where I experiment with automation, security, and networking.
Learn Go with Tests – A project documenting my journey of learning Go through test-driven development (TDD).
Let’s Connect
I’m always happy to connect—whether it’s about security, DevOps, or just sharing ideas. Feel free to reach out through my contact page.
